When sharing tests over multiple courses, you want to be able to specify certain access settings per course instead of per test. This allows you to have more fine grained control on the access of the test in your course while using the same content across multiple courses.
To specify the opening time, closing time and/or maximum number of attempts for your course, you need to configure this in the course-settings of a test. Read below on how to do this.
Note: When entering the opening/closing times in the settings page, the current timezone of the teacher is used. For the student, the opening/closing time is translated to their timezone based on the difference with the entered time by the teacher's timezone.
How to specify the course-settings for a test?
Go to the test you want to configure the course-settings to and click on edit.
In the edit screen go to More > Course Settings.
In the course-settings page, make sure you have the right course selected for which you want to change the settings.
Once you have selected the right course you can specify either one of the settings. For example here below you can see the starting time has been adjusted and the maximum number of attempts is set to 3 for this course.
Don't forget to save the settings!
NOTE: be aware that the course-group settings supersede the course-settings and the course-settings supersede the default test settings.
Specifying the settings per course-group
You can also specify the opening and closing times per course-group. These can be configured on the same page. See for more details this help article.
In addition to the opening and closing times, you can also specify extra time for a group. See for more details this help article.
