IP filtering for on-site testing
Use this to prevent students from accessing the exam from other locations.
URL filtering for on-site testing
Use this to prevent students from accessing external websites during the exam.
This is only possible if your students are using university-managed devices for their exams.
IMPORTANT: If you’re using a URL filter which prevents students from accessing their mailbox. This means that when you add students per email invite they need to be aware of the following:Make sure your students accept their emailed invite to the course before coming to the test location.
Make sure your students login to our standalone application at least once before coming to the test location. They may need to verify their account if students usually access Grasple through an LMS, for which they need access to their email.
To prevent the above situations, you can also consider adding students with their organisation identifiers.
Setting up a test
Have a look at our collection of help articles about setting up tests in Grasple for useful tips and tricks.
Using the Schoolyear integration
Our Schoolyear integration provides an opportunity to allow on-site Bring Your Own Device testing within a lock-down browser.
A Schoolyear license is required to enable this integration. If you are interested, contact Schoolyear about this.
Block student access to other Grasple content
You can prevent students from accessing other Grasple content during a test.
To use this option your test has to have an end time (closing time or duration should be set).
Note: To use this option it has to be enabled for your organisation. If you don't see it in the advanced test settings reach out to your Grasple contact person or support.
Adding students to your exam course
There are different ways in which you can add students to your exam course. This article will provide more insight on it.
Note that you can give groups of students extra time during a test. You can easily assign students to such a group by adding the groups to your CSV upload.
Add students via their organisation (student) ID
It is possible for you to add students to your test/course via their unique organisation ID, which will be provided to us via SurfConext.
This can be done through both adding a single student and adding multiple students via CSV.
Note: To use this option it has to be enabled for your organisation. Please reach out to your Grasple contact person or Support if you need us to enable this feature.
