This article explains the steps for linking your activity within the Original Course View as well as the Ultra Course View within Grasple.
Note: Grasple might not be available for you in Ultra Course View courses. The availability of tools in the Content Market is always managed by the administrator. Contact your Blackboard Administrator in case of questions.
Outline of the steps
Original Course View: add Grasple as an Activity
The steps below describe how you can link a Grasple activity to the Blackboard Gradebook using the Original Course View.
1. Login to Blackboard as an instructor
2. Click [Content] > [Build Content] and select Grasple to add it as an external tool
3. Select the Grasple course and the test you want to link to your course content
4. Fill in the fields under Grading
5. Click submit to save your tool
Ultra Course View: add Grasple via the Content Market
The steps below describe how you can link a Grasple activity to the Blackboard Gradebook within the Ultra Course View.
1. Login to Blackboard as an instructor
2. Navigate to Course Content, select [+] and click on [Content Market]
3. Add Grasple and select the content you would like to add to your course
4. After Linking the content, click on the three dots of the content item and click [Edit[
5. Tick the Create gradebook entry for this item checkbox and change the other settings to your preferences.
Note: make sure to align the due date with the closing date of the Grasple test
6. Click [Save] to save your changes
Important notes
Older grades won’t be synced if enable the evaluation / gradebook entry at a later stage
Synchronisation will be stopped if you remove the activity or disable gradebook entry
If multiple attempts are allowed, the highest grade will always be synced to Blackboard
Grades will only be synced for tests, not for practice modules
Syncing grades can take a couple of minutes
All types of tests can be linked to a Blackboard gradebook, so there's no distinction between e.g. formative and summative tests
Troubleshooting
My Grasple activities can't synchronise to the gradebook
To be able to utilise the Grade sync, the LTI1.3 settings should be configured to:
Manage Placements > Allows Grading
Check with your Blackboard administrator if this is the case.
Other issues
In case the above steps do not solve your issue, check the Blackboard logs for any error messages related to the LTI tool and contact support@grasple.com.
