Whether you want to add exercises to a subject or test, the approach is the same. In this article we explain how to add exercises to your test or subject.

Important: you can only link exercises when you have (at least) view rights on the repository in which they are located. You can still view those exercises and copy them to use in your tests or subjects.

You can add exercises to a (new) subject or (new) test in 5 steps.

  1. Find the exercise(s) you want to add

  2. Select the exercise(s)

  3. Click the button: "link to subject" or "link to test"

  4. Select an existing subject/test or create a new one

  5. Link the exercises to the subject/test

Step 1, 2 and 3 - Find and select the exercises

You can find the exercise in four ways:

  • From the exercises list in one of your repositories

  • From the search result on your repository overview page

  • From the subject detail page in your repository

  • From the edit view of an exercise

Read below more about each of the methods to find and select exercises to add to a (new) subject or (new) test.

From the repository exercise list

To link exercises from you repository list to a subject or test, go to the repository in which the exercise is located and click the "Exercises" tab.
Select the exercises you want to link and click on one of the buttons in the top right:

  • Link to subject

  • Link to test

Go to step 4 & 5 from here.

From the repository search results

Go to your repository overview page and search on the ID of the exercise. In the results select the exercise and click on one of the two buttons:

  • Link to subject

  • Link to test

See an example below:

Go to step 4 & 5 from here.

From the repository subject detail page

Go to repository in which the subjects are located from which you want to select an exercise.
Click on the small button under the column "# exercises" for the specific subject.

Select the exercise(s) you want to add to your (new) subject/test and click on one of the two buttons:

  • Link to subject

  • Link to test

Go to step 4 & 5 from here.

From the edit view of an exercise

Go to the edit view of an exercise you want to add to your (new) subject/test.
Click the more button and click on one of the two buttons:

  • Link to subject

  • Link to test

Step 4 & 5 - Link the selected exercise(s) to a subject/test

After you have found your exercises, selected them and clicked the button "link to subject" or "link to test" you will see a new screen.
Here you can select or create the subject/test you want to link the exercise(s) to.

First select the repository your subject/test is located in or you want to create a new subject/test in.

Than you can select the subject you want to link the exercise(s) to:

Or if you want to link it to a new subject/test, you can create one immediately by selecting the option "new subject" (or "new test") and provide a name.

Finally, click the green "Link" button to link the exercise(s) to the test or subject.
